We have updated the ticket purchasing process for children (up to and including 7 years of age) on Latvian domestic routes to ensure parents can buy a child's ticket for a seat next to them.
The new child ticket purchase process includes the following steps:
• First, the parent or guardian must purchase their own ticket, selecting a seat where the seat next to it is available during the ticket purchase process. • Once the parent has received their ticket, they can purchase the child's ticket (up to and including 7 years of age) by calling Lux Express customer service at +371 677 81350 from 08:00 to 20:00 in Latvian, English, or Russian. For calls between 20:00 and 08:00, contact +372 680 0909 in English, Russian, or Estonian. Alternatively, a ticket request can be sent also via email <a rel="noopener">info@luxexpress.eu</a>, providing all necessary information. 
We remind parents to plan their journey in advance to ensure a smooth ticket purchase.

How to purchase tickets for preschool Children on Latvian Domestic Routes?

According to our <a href="https://luxexpress.eu/en/transportation-rules/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Passenger and luggage transportation rules</a> passenger is allowed to take on board a coach a maximum of two pieces of luggage.  On board a coach passenger is allowed to take one piece of hand luggage which does not exceed size of 45 × 35 × 20 cm (length – width – height) and weighs no more than 5 kg.
In the luggage compartment, a passenger is allowed to take one piece of luggage weighing no more than 23 kg which does not exceed the size of 70 × 30 × 55 cm (length – width – height).

Passenger is allowed to take more than one permitted piece of luggage if there is enough space available in the luggage compartment and the coach crew agrees to accommodate it. Acceptance of a larger amount of luggage is decided by the driver on the spot, depending on the situation.
These restrictions apply to one passenger. If more than one passenger is traveling or a passenger has more tickets, it is allowed to take proportionally more luggage - two passengers can take a total of 4 units, two of which have to fit the requirements of cabin luggage and the other two must fit the requirements for luggage that is going to be placed in the luggage compartment. 
On an international trip, the bus driver marks each passenger’s luggage with a number of which the other half is given to the passenger. Luggage is issued only on the basis of a number.
Luggage is not marked on the Estonian domestic route, but every passenger is advised to do it individually in order to minimize the possibility of accidentally mixing of luggages.
Lux Express recommends that every passenger recognizably equip their luggage and add their contact information to the luggage. The company also recommends that the passenger uses personal luggage protection measures (such as a suitcase lock) and also luggage insurance.
For the safety of passengers, it is prohibited to transport radioactive, explosive, poisonous, narcotic, corrosive, flammable, and strong-smelling substances in Lux Express buses; substances and objects without correct packaging, as well as substances and objects that stain or damage the bus.
The carrier is not responsible for the passenger's luggage carried in the luggage compartment of the bus, if the damage was not caused by the carrier's fault, i.e. the damage is caused by the passenger's fault, due to the characteristics of the passenger's luggage and/or another passenger or the contents of the luggage packed by another passenger.

Luggage requirements in Lux Express busses

All the seats in Lux Express coaches are equipped with safety belts that are appropriate for passengers of any age category.
Lux Express doesn’t provide children safety car seats. You can take your own children's car seat, but however, it’s not necessary to have it while traveling on Lux Express coaches with small children.
If you still would like to take your child safety seat and by the manufacturer guide, it needs a three-point seat belt, then, please book seats behind the second exit (29-30 or 31-32, depends on a coach).

Please, pay attention that it’s obligatory to buy a ticket with a seat for the child. On Lux Express coaches there are special discounts for children up to 7 years (incl.). All discounts are visible while purchasing a ticket.
If you are traveling with a stroller, please pack the stroller before the trip to ensure that it can fit in the luggage compartment.

NB! Buses of other carriers (not Lux Express) and Lux Charter may not have three-point seat belts.

How to travel with child safety car seat?

While boarding on all international routes, the passenger needs to provide personal identification documents according to which will cross the state borders (passport, ID-card).
During check-in, bus driver or other Lux Express representative check valid documents for border crossing (passport, ID-card or visa if it's necessary). Please be informed that the residence permit is not a <a href="https://www.politsei.ee/en/questions-about-crossing-the-border/" target="_self">travel document</a>.
It is each passenger’s responsibility to find out about current entry and exit regulations and to take the required documents with them.
Carrier has the right to refuse to provide carriage services and to refuse to refund the ticket in case if the passenger does not have a valid travel document while boarding the coach for the international departure.
If the passenger is traveling with minors, the <a href="https://luxexpress.zendesk.com/hc/en-150/articles/360014400359" target="_self" rel="undefined">requirements</a> must be checked before the trip.

Valid travel documents

In case of canceled departure, the customer will be offered another departure from the company which will be in the soonest time ticket costs will be covered from companies side.
In case Lux Express can’t provide the customer with the next departure from Lux Express company, the other type of vehicle will be offered, as long as the customer will get to their final destination.
If none of the other departure times/dates are comfortable for customers, the company will refund the full amount of ticket fare within 14 days. For that, please confirm it by sending all the needed details for a refund:
<ul>
<li>ticket number;</li>
<li>name and surname of the passenger;</li>
<li>last four digits of credit card or bank account number from which payment was done.</li>
</ul>
If the ticket was purchased by cash in our sales office, a refund can be done to the bank account as well.
