<p>Traveling with pets is not allowed on international routes, except for guide dogs for individuals with severe or profound visual impairments. This is because travel times are usually over four hours without any stops, which can be physically challenging for a pet.</p>
<p>On Estonian and Latvian domestic routes, you can travel with your pet, but there are some requirements to follow.</p>
<ul>
<li>You need to purchase a separate pet ticket with a 40% discount on the Lux Express website. This ticket guarantees a separate seat for your pet and their transport cage or bag.</li>
<li>For a comfortable and safe journey, use a transport cage or bag with a maximum size of 40 x 40 cm. The cage or bag must be able to be secured with a seat belt to ensure the safety of both your pet and other passengers. The size of the cage or bag is important, as a larger one will not fit on a seat. Please ensure your pet's carrier meets the size requirements.</li>
<li>The cage or bag must be enclosed but must have holes for breathing.</li>
<li>On Latvian domestic routes, dogs with muzzles on short leashes are also allowed.</li>
<li>All carriage requirements also apply to the Lux Express Riga Airport Shuttle, except a pet ticket is not needed.</li>

<h4 id="h_01HVPAQG1Z9Z66110KQT6AJYCB"><strong>Estonia domestic routes</strong></h4>
<p>Traveling on Estonia domestic routes, minor (0-7 years included) must have an attendant. Minor who is at least 8 years old can travel without attendant/parents, in case child parents are aware of child location and child have the opportunity to contact with parents. The legal guardian is responsible for the minor child! On Estonia domestic routes the minor attendant can b his/her at least 10 years old family member or at least 18 years old attendant (not a family member).</p>
<p>When planning a trip for a minor, please take into account the Child Protection Act, which states that minors under 16 years of age may not be present in public places unaccompanied at 23:00-06:00 (01.06-31.08 is valid from 24:00 to 05:00).</p>
<p>The company is not responsible for leaving the minor at the right bus stop!</p>
<p>For a minor who travels alone, the company recommends to take in written form parents contacts with him/her.</p>
<h4 id="h_01HVPAQG1ZB53Y9GSP3KWV0F05"><strong>Latvian domestic routes</strong></h4>
<p>For traveling on domestic routes in Latvia, a minor under the age of 7 (inclusive) must be accompanied. The minors accompanying person must be at least 13 years old. A minor who is at least 8 years old can travel unaccompanied/parents, and the child's parents are informed of the child's location and the child has the opportunity to contact the parents.<br>For minors traveling alone, the company recommends providing parents' contacts in document format.</p>
<h4 id="01HVPAR86DEGV16YPRDCCHADH3"><strong>International routes</strong></h4>
<p>A person aged 0-11 (incl.) can travel abroad only with the accompanying person (parent, at least 18 years old attendant).</p>
<p>Due to the countries of origin and destination, please be sure to familiarize yourself with the requirements of the border crossing with minors before the trip. The legal guardian is responsible for the minor child!</p>
<p>The attendant must have a minor child parent´s permission for travel. The format of the permission (letter/document prepared by a notary) depends on origin/destination country requirements. If only one parent is traveling and his/her surname is different from minor´s, it is advisable to include an extract from the population register (in English) or a copy of the birth certificate.</p>
<p>Unaccompanied can travel from the age of 12 years old. When traveling alone, the child must definitely have the consent of the parents to travel (together with the contact details of the parent(s)). For a minor child who travels alone, the company recommends to take in written form parents contacts with him/her.</p>
<p>The minor must have a valid travel Document valid travel ticket. When planning a trip for a minor, please take into account the Child Protection Act, which states that minors under 16 years of age may not be present in public places unaccompanied at 23:00-06:00 (01.06-31.08 is valid from 24:00 to 05:00).</p>
<p>When minors travel abroad from Russia, in addition to the passport, notarized consent from the parent is required, indicating the period of departure from Russia and listing the countries he/she is going to visit.</p>

Traveling with minors

<h4 id="h_01HZ4WTH34NEQ3EXDVJN1W3JRC"><strong>Bicycle rides for FREE!</strong></h4>
<p>Travel stress-free with your bike on the Lux Express bus! With a bicycle ticket, there is always a guaranteed place for a passenger's bicycle. </p>
<p>Starting from 2023 summer season, you can enter the bus with a bicycle only at those stops that are not located directly next to the lane. We received feedback from passengers as well as bus drivers, that it is not safe to load and unload a bike on the highway or in a narrow stop pocket inside the settlement. Bicycle compartment is faced to the road and would not be safe for such bus stops.  </p>

<p>All stops can be used for traveling by bicycle on international routes to the Baltics and Warsaw, except Warsaw Centralny.<br><br>On the Latvian domestic routes, safe bicycle loading and unloading are available ONLY in the territories of the Bus Station: Riga SAO, Saldus AO, Skrundas AO, Liepajas AO, Plavinu AO, Jekabpils AO, Livanu AO, Daugavpils AO.<br><br>Bicycles cannot be accommodate on Lux Express Riga Airport shuttle route.</p>
<p>On international routes, a bicycle ticket must also be booked for an electric scooter/bicycle. You don't have to do this when traveling in Estonia.</p>

<li>to travel with a bicycle, it is necessary to book a bicycle ticket;</li>

<li>each bus also has bicycle covers to protect both the bicycle as well as other luggage in the luggage compartment;</li>
<li>a bicycle ticket can only be booked for journeys within the European Union;</li>
<li>on international routes, a bicycle ticket must also be booked for an electric scooter/bicycle;</li>
<li>the bicycle ticket can only be returned together with the passenger ticket;</li>
<li>when changing the ticket then the bicycle ticket will also be added to the new ticket;</li>
<li>the bicycle ticket cannot be canceled separately from the passenger ticket;</li>
<li>a bicycle ticket cannot be added to an existing passenger ticket.</li>

<p>You can book a bicycle ticket for free when purchasing passenger tickets on the Lux Express website. After entering the passenger data, you will be taken to extras, where you activate the box: "reserve free bicycle ticket" and check that the departure date and route name after it are correct. Then make a payment, after which you will receive a bus ticket on the given e-mail address on which is written that you have also booked a bicycle ticket.</p>

<p>Please make sure that you arrive 15 minutes before the departure of the bus so we could properly pack your bicycle in the luggage. Please help the driver if needed and make sure your bike gets on board the bus.</p>
<p>To protect the bike and other luggage, the bicycle must be packed in a protective bag which is provided in the bus.</p>
<p>The front wheel does not normally need to be disassembled, but if the bicycle does not fit in the bag, the front wheel will need to be removed. Also, be prepared to turn the handlebar or lower the seat if necessary. Remove the basket and bicycle bags from the bicycle if they are present.</p>
<p>If the passenger has not booked a bicycle ticket, Lux Express cannot guarantee that the bicycle will fit on the bus. If the bicycle does not fit in the luggage compartment, the customer must immediately contact<a href="https://luxexpress.eu/en/contacts/"> Lux Express customer service</a> and purchase a new passenger and bicycle ticket for the next departure. Unused tickets will be refunded.</p>
<p>When traveling with an electric scooter/bicycle, make sure that the bike's battery is not damaged. Before placing the electric scooter/bicycle on the bus, make sure it is switched off. If the electric scooter/bicycle is dirty or muddy, clean it before placing it on the bus or put a cover on it.</p>

<p>On departures on the routes St. Petersburg - Tallinn and St. Petersburg - Helsinki bicycles can be transported in the luggage compartment of the bus, but only if there is enough free space. The possibility of accommodating a bicycle in a luggage compartment is decided by the coach driver directly before the departure depending on the situation.</p>
<p>The bicycle intended for carriage must have its front wheel dismantled and both the front wheel and the bicycle must be packed separately. The packed bicycle should not have any sharp protruding parts.</p>
<p>If the passenger has not booked a bicycle ticket, Lux Express cannot guarantee that the bicycle will fit on the bus. If the bicycle does not fit in the luggage compartment, the customer must immediately contact<a href="https://luxexpress.eu/en/contacts/"> Lux Express customer service</a> and purchase a new passenger and bicycle ticket for the next departure.
