Lux Express carried 23% more passengers in the first half of the year
In the first half of the 2012 the biggest operator of international coach routes in the Baltic region Lux Express continued growth carrying 23 % more passengers than in the first half of 2011. The total number of passengers in the first half was more than 301 000 passengers. The largest increase was on routes Riga – Vilnius, where the number of passengers increased by 36 %, Riga – St. Peterburg, where it increased by 25 %, and Tallinn – Vilnius, where growth reached 23%.
Successful implementation of goals set in the first half, provided a 5.53 million euro income for Lux Express group in the first half of 2012 - that is 18 % or 845.612 thousand more than in the first half of 2011.
“The key of success of Group’s income lies in several related aspects. 2 million euro invested in 2011 for bus network development has been successful. We have opened new route Riga – Minsk. In June Lux Express launched a new „Simple Express” brand route Vilnius – Warsaw – Berlin. We have also launched new coaches that are more comfortable with additional amenities such as individual media centre for watching movies or browsing the internet,” says Lux Express Chairman of the Board Hannes Saarpuu.
“Continuing the progress of development in order to provide more comfortable and enjoyable traveling Lux Express also has invested more than 3.340 million euro in the first half of 2012. These investments are mainly diverted into new coaches, some of which are already available for Lux Express passengers,” adds H. Saarpuu.
