Lux Express opens new connections between southern Estonia and Tallinn

Starting from June 18, Lux Express is adding several new departures to its schedule, offering improved connections between Võru, Põlva, and Tallinn. These new routes will provide passengers with convenient early morning and late evening travel options, making trips to and from the capital smoother for those in Southern Estonia.

From mid-June, passengers can travel from Võru and Põlva to Tallinn on weekday mornings with a stop in Tartu:

  •  Võru – Tallinn at 6:15 (Mon–Fri), stop in Põlva at 6:40, continuing from Tartu at 7:30  Arrival in Tallinn before 10:00, allowing travelers to start their day early in the capital.

  • New weekend departure: Võru – Tallinn at 9:15 (Sat–Sun), stop in Põlva at 9:40, continuing from Tartu at 10:30.

Changes to Existing Departure Times
Some current departures will be adjusted for better alignment with passengers’ daily schedules:

  • Võru – Tallinn at 7:55 (daily), with stops in Kanepi at 8:15, Otepää at 8:35, and continuing from Tartu at 9:30.

  • Tallinn – Võru at 12:30 (daily), continuing from Tartu toward Kanepi and Võru at 15:05.

New Evening Connection to Põlva

  • An evening line between Tallinn and Võru now includes a long-awaited stop in Põlva:
    Tallinn – Võru at 18:30 (daily), continuing from Tartu at 21:05, arriving in Põlva at 21:50, and in Võru at 22:15.


According to Lux Express board member Ingmar Roos, these expanded connections have been made possible thanks to the company’s new double-decker buses, which freed up resources to better serve Southern Estonia.

Lux Express operates the line using comfortable 56-seat Scania Irizar buses. All buses offer Wi-Fi, personal media screens, free hot coffee throughout the ride, on-board toilets, air conditioning, and power outlets for charging devices. Ticket prices follow dynamic pricing—early buyers benefit from lower fares. For example, a full ticket from Võru to Tallinn ranges between 14–17€, but the highest fare applies when buying from the driver. Lux Express offers up to 40% discount for seniors (60+) and children (up to 16 years old), and up to 26% for youth (up to 26 years old).

Timetable from June 18:

Tickets can be purchased online at luxexpress.eu or tpilet.ee, as well as from bus stations in Võru, Tartu, and Tallinn, or directly from the driver if needed. Additionally, a special offer is available on the Lux Express website for round-trip tickets purchased for travel Monday to Thursday, with up to 30% discount.
