Lux Express departs 12 times a day on the Tallinn-Riga route
From, April 28, Lux Express buses travel from Tallinn to Riga 12 times a day, because the increase in the number of passengers and the data of the Statistics Estonia show that Latvia continues to be one of the most popular travel destinations among Estonians.
Compared to last March, the number of passengers on the Lux Express Tallinn-Riga route has increased by 61 percent. At the same time, the number of passengers on the Riga, Vilnius and Warsaw routes has increased by a total of 67 percent.
Lux Express International Business Manager Rait Remmel: "In the case of such an increase, it is important to specify that last March the corona crisis was receding, but restrictions were still officially in place. Nevertheless, the current increase in the number of travelers is significant and shows people's interest in traveling in the Baltic region. We are doing everything we can to facilitate and encourage this interest with comfortable buses and frequent departures."
According to the data of the newly published tourism survey by Statistics Estonia, Latvia was one of the most popular travel destinations for Estonians in 2022. "Among those under 24, Sweden is the most popular destination, but among those aged 25-39, Latvia and Finland are in the forefront, followed by Italy. Although the picture does not change significantly in the case of 40-54-year-olds, representatives of this age group prefer Spain more than others, which is the third most popular place to visit after Finland and Latvia. For residents aged 55 and older, Turkey is also among the most common destination countries, which ranks second between Finland and Latvia," the Statistics Estonia announced.
Buses from Tallinn to Riga depart almost every hour from 7:00 to 18:00. The last bus, which will finally take passengers to Vilnius, starts from the Tallinn bus station at 22:30 and arrives in Riga at 02:35 in the morning. At the same time, the first bus from Riga to Tallinn departs. Further, Riga-Tallinn buses also depart almost every hour from 7:00 in the morning until 18:00 in the evening.
Lux Express's other routes in the Baltic region are also maintained at a sufficient frequency to meet the ever-increasing passenger demand.
