Lux Express summer changes: bus to Kärdla and evening buses to resort towns
On June 1, Lux Express opened its summer line from Tallinn to Kärdla and supplement its timetables for several popular destinations - departures are added to the Riga, Pärnu, Kuressaare, Haapsalu and Narva routes.
Ingmar Roos, the Estonian business manager of Lux Express, said that with their summer changes, they want to contribute most to revitalizing Estonia's domestic tourism and to motivate people to travel to the countryside, village or another city in a comfortable bus, where you can also take your bicycle if necessary, instead of an expensive car.
"That's why, as the biggest change, we will start additional evening departures from tomorrow, so that people can travel in the morning from Tallinn to Haapsalu and Pärnu or from Tartu to Pärnu and Viljandi, they can spend as long day there as possible and they don't have to worry about where to stay, because they can now conveniently return home in the evening with our bus ," said Roos.
Thus, the last bus from Haapsalu and Pärnu to Tallinn starts every day at 20:00, and from Pärnu also on Friday evenings at 22:00. Also, from June 16, the last trip to Viljandi and Tartu will depart from Pärnu in the evenings at 19:55. "If you travel from Monday to Thursday, you can also take advantage of our round-trip 40% discount, which makes traveling to the resort town even more economical compared to if you were to go by car and have to stay overnight in a hotel," added Roos.
As another important change, Lux Express is relaunching the Tallinn-Kärdla route, which has been very warmly received by passengers, in order to revive bus travel between the capital and the islands in the summer period. "It is important to emphasize to passengers that, in addition to the final destination, our Hiiumaa bus also stops in Käina, just like the Saaremaa bus stops in Muhumaa and Orissaare, i.e. places that are important for both summer vacationers and tourists," added Roos. "For example, when enjoying the summer in Muhumaa, it definitely doesn't make sense to come to Tallinn by car for one day, and vice versa, because you can make the same trip more comfortably, safely and economically with a bus that runs five times a day in both directions than with your car."
Regarding summer plans Lux Express continues to think about passengers who want to explore their destinations with their personal bicycles. Four bicycles can fit in each bus, the bicycle ticket is still free for the passenger, but it must be booked together with the regular ticket on the Lux Express website luxexpress.eu. In addition, each bus has bicycle covers to protect both the two-wheeler and other luggage. It is important to emphasize that, for safety reasons, you can enter and exit the bus with bicycles mostly only at larger stops within the settlement, where the bus stop is not located directly next to the lane.
