Lux Express reopens Tallinn-St. Petersburg line

From 9th of June Lux Express starts operating four weekly departures to St. Petersburg.

Lux Express member of the board, Rait Remmel, said that passengers and coaches are crossing the boarder just as before. "Both countries have enforced rules and restrictions, who, why and on what kind of conditions can cross the boarder. Otherwise the boarder crossing is exactly the same as one and half year ago, last time when Lux Express crossed Estonian eastern boarder," Remmel added. 

Initially there will be four departures per week. On Mondays and Fridays there will be departure from Tallinn at 7 am and 5:15 pm from St. Petersburg. On Wednesdays and Sundays there will departure from Tallinn at 3:45 pm and 7:30 am from St. Petersburg. Monday and Friday departures have stops at Tallinn Mustakivi, Jõhvi, Sillamäe and Narva. The other two departures have stops only in Narva.  

Remmel expressed hope that reopened lines will be operational after the summer seasion as well. "Already in the June St. Petersburg is hosting European Championship in soccer, which definately will increrase demand if spectators are allowed to the stadium. Furthermore the latest information indicates that there will be no train connection between Helsinki and St. Petersburg during the tournament," Remmel added. 

CEO of Lux Express is reopening of the line co-ordinated with authorities. "Safety for passengers and our employees is our priority number one. Wearing mask during the trip is mandatory, free masks are distributed to everyone, coach interior is wet-cleaned after every journey and in cooperation with opur technical parttner we hae upgraded ventilation software, which means there will be signifantly more fresh air directed to the bus interior than before," Roos added. 

All regular discounts are available on St. Petersburg-Tallinn route, also there is twin seat ticket available to enjoy more private journey.
