Now, you can take Lux Express from Estonia to Palanga and Klaipėda

30.05.2025

Preparing for the summer tourist season, Lux Express today launched a new route, allowing travelers from Tallinn, Tartu, and Pärnu to reach the Lithuanian resort towns of Palanga and Klaipėda with one convenient transfer.

The new Riga-Klaipėda route is a summer extension of the Riga-Liepāja route, which Lux Express launched a year ago and has since been highly popular with passengers. While the convenient buses to the Latvian resort town of Liepāja run 11 times a day in both directions during the summer, Lux Express now extends its services from there to the Lithuanian resort towns three times daily.

The new line departs from Riga Bus Station to Klaipėda three times a day: at 7:00, 11:30, and 16:00. Buses from Klaipėda back to Riga also run three times daily: at 8:10, 12:55, and 17:10.

The journey from Riga to Klaipėda takes about 5 hours and 10 minutes, while the trip from Liepāja to Klaipėda lasts around 1 hour and 40 minutes. On the way from Liepāja, the bus stops at the Palanga airport and bus station, as well as the Klaipėda bus station.

Lux Express began serving passengers on domestic routes in Latvia in May 2024. In just over half a year, around 200,000 passengers have traveled on the Riga-Liepāja and Riga-Daugavpils lines. In addition to local travelers, more than 10,000 tourists—many from Estonia and Germany—have used the comfortable buses between Latvia's second and third largest cities.

The full timetable, including stops in Liepāja and Palanga, can be found on the Lux Express website by entering the desired departure and destination points in the trip search.
