Lux Express transported over 200,000 passengers in Latvia
The largest bus transportation company in the Baltic region, Lux Express, transported over 200,000 passengers on domestic routes in Latvia last year, the company reported.
“We are very pleased that in such a short time since May, when we launched commercial passenger transport on the regional route Liepāja–Riga–Daugavpils, we have managed to serve such a large number of passengers, many of whom now use our services regularly,” said Aldis Ķibēns, Member of the Board of Lux Express Latvia.
Analyzing last year’s data from Lux Express, it is evident that from May until the end of the year, the company transported more than 10,000 foreign guests on domestic routes in Latvia, taking them to Liepāja and Daugavpils. The highest number of tourists came from Estonia, followed by Germans and tourists from other countries.
“It’s also very interesting to see that nearly 2,000 passengers have used the services of Latvia’s longest bus route, traveling from Liepāja to Daugavpils,” noted A. Ķibēns, adding that the company is very satisfied with its achievements and the fact that Latvian residents genuinely seek higher service quality and greater comfort when using passenger transport services.
He added: “It’s no coincidence that at the end of last year, Lux Express decided to increase the number of trips to Liepāja and Daugavpils, including the introduction of new express routes on the Liepāja–Riga line.”
“Hearing about the occasional opening of new routes for commercial passenger transport, we are pleased that our example has contributed to market changes that will develop the industry and improve competition. After all, the beneficiaries of these changes are not only passengers but also the country,” emphasized the Member of the Board of Lux Express Latvia.
All trips on the Riga–Liepāja and Liepāja–Daugavpils routes are operated with “Irizar i6s Efficient” buses manufactured in 2023, offering one of the highest comfort levels in the industry. Additionally, all buses are equipped with toilets, Wi-Fi, media screens with content in Latvian, and free hot drinks.
