Lux Express will reopen regular bus line to Vilnius

Tonight, after a month and a half, the first Lux Express bus will depart from Tallinn Bus Station, which will initially run once a day, through Riga, to the capital of Lithuania.

According to Rait Remmel, the international business manager of Lux Express, the reopening of the Vilnius line is an important step. "Although we will start again in the direction of Vilnius with one departure per day, at the same time we will restore the lifeline between the Baltic capitals. For our Latvian drivers, this adds a bit of workload and motivates the whole company to work hard in difficult times, because as a bus company, ensuring the freedom of movement of people is our mission so that we can connect cities and unite people," said Remmel.

The reopening of the Vilnius route means that other international departure times of Lux Express will also change. From January 27, Lux Express will depart from Tallinn to Riga at 10:00 and 18:00. From Riga to Tallinn also twice a day, at 11:30 and 16:00. You will get to Vilnius from Riga at 22:50 and the bus back to the Latvian capital will leave Vilnius at 6:45. A bus departing from Tallinn to Vilnius at 18.00 will make a short stop in the Latvian capital Riga and will be arriving in Vilnius at 3:10 in the early morning.

"In cooperation with our partner, we have specially developed a new bus ventilation system control software to minimize the spread of the virus, which allows significantly more fresh air to enter the bus cabin, reducing the proportion of air consumed and circulated in the cabin. All buses have facilities for hand disinfection, and even though the common areas of the bus interior are always wet cleaned when passengers arrive, Lux Express calls on all passengers to disinfect their hands when entering and leaving the bus. We offer every passenger a free face mask when entering the bus and invite everyone to cover their nose and mouth during the trip."

Lux Express reminds that when travelling between the Baltics, there are several strict requirements and restrictions. More detailed and up-to-date information on travel restrictions is available from the Foreign Ministries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania or the embassies of the respective countries.
