Lux Express adds buses to popular routes for the Christmas holidays
Lux Express is adding nearly 50 additional departures on both domestic and international routes during the Christmas period to ensure that everyone who wishes can travel home to their families for the holidays.
Due to increased demand, passengers are advised to purchase tickets well in advance, as additional services will be released for sale gradually depending on bus occupancy.
Lux Express Group CEO Ingmar Roos said that passenger numbers increase significantly during the holiday season. “To make sure everyone can reach their loved ones comfortably and on time for Christmas dinner, we are adding 20 additional departures this year on our busiest routes, such as Tallinn–Tartu and Tallinn–Pärnu. On these routes, two buses will depart at the same time, providing passengers with a total of 1,120 additional seats,” Roos explained. “On international routes (Tallinn–Riga and Riga–Vilnius) we are adding 28 extra departures, offering a total of 1,568 additional seats.”
As Christmas and New Year’s, combined with weekends, make this year’s holiday period longer than usual, Lux Express will monitor demand on the most popular routes throughout the entire period and deploy nearly its entire bus fleet. “It’s also worth keeping an eye on departures that may initially appear sold out, as many tickets are returned or changed, and freed-up seats may go back on sale at the last minute,” added the CEO of Lux Express Group, which operates without state subsidies. “To help us plan additional services, we recommend purchasing tickets early.”
