Muhu - Island where time stops
Explore Muhumaa by bike
Even today, Muhu Island is a place where time rests!
Sleepy fishing villages, working windmills, country houses with thatched roofs, lots of animals and a slightly out-of-the-way location make Muhu Island a deeply Estonian place. Nature and traditions have not changed much over time. Muhu's village milieu and landscape, unchanged for centuries, invite you to seek refuge on the island. It is best to spend your summer vacation in a completely different nature from mainland and stay at a tourist farm.
Muhu island can be easily reached by Lux Express bus from Tallinn and in the summer period from Tartu (Tartu-Kuressaare line 16.06-20.08.2023).
Lux Express buses stop at Kuivastu (port area), Hellamaa, Liiva (Muhumaa), Nautse stops. Before buying a ticket, follow the stops displayed in the timetable!
You can also explore Muhu Island by bicycle, because it can easily be placed in the trunk of the bus, and when you arrive at Muhu Island, a pleasant bicycle trip can begin!
